Blog Entry # 2.7- Holiday Research(A)

1. What is the name of the holiday?
The holiday that i am doing is called Cinco de Mayo
2. When will the holiday be celebrated in 2011?
Answer: The holiday will be celebrated on may 5 in 2011 it is a holiday that celebrates may 5 every year
3. Who celebrates this holiday? (Countries, religious groups, ethnic groups)
Answer: The holiday is celebrated by Mexicans its not  religious its just the day when Mexicans declared there independence from France and it is also celebrated in the united states because they are showing Mexico's pride and its also celebrated in Mexico Puebla.
4. Why is this holiday celebrated? What is the significance of this holiday?
Answer: The holiday is celebrated as a reminisce of the Mexicans winning there independence from the french.
5. How is this holiday celebrated? Include any rituals, food, costumes, dance or music associated with this holiday.
Answer: Menudo soup, Plantain chips, Sopes, Tacos al pastor, Elados Tatemados, Nopales, Tinga poblana de pollo, Guacamole, Flan and other great meals they also have loads of beer and other alcohol drinks. The costumes that they wear are the Mexican flag colors or you dress as one of the Mexicans greatest historians. They would dance to Mexican songs and make up there own dances while there at it.

Blog Entry #2.6- Design Brief (A)

I think that we are going to need plenty of time to create this greeting card and skills so that it can become untouchable. I also think that the steps needed to take is research and taking art into serious hands so you can know what colors and textures are going to look good depending on what king of greeting card you are doing. I also think that i should put myself in the people who celebrate this holidays shoes.

Blog Entry #2.5- Design Brief (A)

1. Always start with the design brief with " I am going to design" followed by a general description of what you are designing and creating.
I am going to design and make a post card about the cinco de3 mayo holiday and i have to research it and do a lot of reading on it because i don't know anything about that holiday.

2. What is the goal of the product? What should able to do?
My goal for this product is to know a lot about it and be able to contribute some information or poor some information into the readers.

3.I want to reach the taste of the food, culture, language and the people.

4.I think that the most important part is to have connection with the project you are working on.

5.I don't want to see any fails information in my project.

Blogspot # 2.3- Product Analysis 2 (A)


1. What holiday/event does the card represent? This card represents Christmas.

2. What type of images are used – photos, cartoons or graphics? How do the images used connect to the holiday/event? The image used is a christmas tree in snow lighting up and i think that it connects to the photo because on christmas there is always a tree involved and on it mostly snow on christmas and in the image there is snow in the bakground.
3. In your opinion, is the cover of the card attention-grabbing? Explain exactly why or why not. Consider the arrangement of elements as well as use of images, color and text. I don't think that the front got my attention because its very simple and i don't like simple.But i like the color and text and i felt that it stock out to me.
4. What text is written on the front of the card? Where is it located on the front?

Blog Entry # 2.2- Product Analysis1 (A)

1.What holiday/event does the card represent?
The holiday that my card represents is Thanksgiving.

2.What type of images are used – photos, cartoons or graphics? How do the images used connect to the holiday/event?
The image shown on my card is the image of a little girl and little boy that are on a sail boat with a turkey conducting the boat while they are at sea.

3.In your opinion, is the cover of the card attention-grabbing? Explain exactly why or why not. Consider the arrangement of elements as well as use of images, color and text.
I think that they card is grabbing my attention because its funny that a turkey is sailing the kids out of  sea and after the turkey saved them they are going to kill it.They used very vibrant and dark colors and the text was as if a little kid wrote it.

The text written was "Thanksgiving is here again". I is located in center of the front.

5.What text is written inside the card? Where is it located inside the card? In the card it's written "Wish you were,too! Hope You Have a Happy Day.

6. In your opinion, does the text inside the card connect to the image(s) on the cover? Explain exactly why or why not.Yes, I think it connects because the girl and boy are not home yet but thanksgiving is and they wish they were home.

7. What types of information appears on the back of the card? (Do not copy it exactly!)., The information thats appears in the back of the card is the company it came from, what kind of paper they used to make the card and also the price code number and the price.

8. To what consumer is this card targeted? (Consider age group, gender, race and/or religion.) What about the design led you to this conclusion? I think that this card is targeted to americans and all ages because you can be missing your kids or some one close to i mean sure your child can be 21 but  you probibly still think of them as your little baby.

Blog Entry #2.1- Design Task (A)

 I think that i have been asked to select # that was in the plastic box i happen to have picked the number 5.Since i landed on the number 5 which on the packet is the holiday of Cinco de Mayo i have to now anwer some questions about that specific holiday. I also was given a post card that was about Thanksgiving i have to answer some questions about that postcard.
